Ten Things Tuesday

  1. Sleep: I’m pretty sure Lucas has been preparing me for his sleep schedule lately. I’ve been up since 2:30AM this morning -with a little 30 minute nap happening somewhere between 8 & 9. Even with hardly any sleep, I’d expect to be more tired than I am. Nothing a little coffee can’t fix. 🙂 Hoping I’ll be this optimistic when I’m even more sleep-deprived in a couple months!
  2. Rain: It seems like April showers somehow found their way in to March. After all the rain last week, today is actually really beautiful outside. Crossing my fingers that the weather stays like this and that the 50% chance of rain later in the week & the 80% chance of rain Saturday stays away. We have too many outdoor plans this weekend!
  3. Easter Crawfish Boil: Speaking of outdoor plans this weekend, my parents are having their annual crawfish boil/Easter egg hunt this weekend. According to my mom, it’s “a big to-do.” but really, it kind of is. They go all out and have a big Easter egg hunt for all the kids. I’m so excited for Lucas to be able to be part of it next year. As for this year, I’m just excited to chow down on some crawfish.
  4. Braxton Hicks: Before my hospital stay a couple weeks ago, I had no idea that I was even having any sort of Braxton Hicks contractions. Now, I notice them much more. Last night I had one that lasted a little longer than the usual ones I feel, and it made me a little nervous. Probably a contributing factor as to why I’ve been up for 9 hours already today & it’s not even noon yet.
  5. Labor playlist: While I was wide awake at 2:30AM last night, I was trying to think of what songs I would want playing while I’m in labor & get a labor playlist going. Obviously, something calming. I mean, I’m not even sure if they let you play music while giving birth, probably something I should have asked on the hospital tour, but I’m hoping they do! Any suggestions on some good music for labor & delivery?
  6. F21: With this 8 1/2 month pregnant belly, I haven’t been able to fit in to much from Forever 21 lately. But I’m really wanting this striped tunic & this maxi dress. Wishful thinking that they’ll fit me right now?
  7. Maternity Clothes: I’m all about comfort right now, and since it seems like winter is officially over here in Louisiana, these maternity tank tops at Target are my favorite part of my maternity wardrobe. They are so comfortable & the basic colors go with EVERYTHING. I have this tank top in 5 different colors, and I wear one pretty much every day.
  8. Starbucks: currently drinking any kind of iced latte, my favorite lately being cinnamon dolce & plain ol’ vanilla. I’m actually about to go get one as soon as I finish up this post. Because without coffee…ZZZZZZZZZ.
  9. Maternity pictures: We’re supposed to take maternity pictures this Friday -still crossing my fingers that the rain stays away- and I’ve found some inspiration on Pinterest. My favorites include this & this & this. (all links from my Pinterest) Now I just need to figure out what I’m going to wear!
  10. Lucky: Taking this time to be a cheese-ball for a second. Last night, Brandon wanted some yogurt for dessert. I told him I’d fix it for him, so I fixed a little parfait in a mug. Layered it with fruit & granola, even sprinkled some cinnamon & pecans on top. Fancy stuff. He told me how delicious it was the whole time he ate it. You may have thought that I spent hours in the kitchen baking some intricate, five-layer cake. But nope, just a parfait. I love Brandon for so many reasons that it would be impossible to name them all, but one of the reasons is because he takes the simplest thing, like me fixing him a parfait, and makes me feel like I just climbed Mount Everest. He supports me in everything I do & always makes me feel appreciated. I am so lucky to be able to share my life with my best friend, who just so happens to be the best man I have ever known. 🙂

happy heart
