My baby is HALF A YEAR OLD already! Where did the time go? How did that happen so quickly?! I feel like I’ve known him all my life but really he’s only been on Earth with us six months. Fastest six months of my life!
His cute little moccs from his Valentine’s picture are from Sweet n Swag. I found them on Instagram, and they have the cutest shoes for babies/toddlers and are super reasonably priced!
Baby:
Weight // Weighing in at a whopping 17lb 12oz. I really think Lucas only weighed 20lbs for his first birthday, and Logan just seems so much chunkier (AKA way heavier!) man, this kid is doing a number on my back and my arms!
Sleeping // We had a little spurt, during sleep training where Logan would sleep 5-6 hours at a time. One time he even slept for like 9 hours! But unfortunately that didn’t last long (maybe a week) so we’re still up usually every 2-3 hours. Sometimes every hour. Sometimes 3-4 hours. But that’s about it. I know I’ll sleep eventually but not sleeping at all is really wearing me down! Hoping this little guy starts sleeping for longer spurts. Any tips on getting your baby to sleep better/longer? ANY & ALL would be greatly appreciated!
Breastfeeding // Still going strong! Seriously so proud of us for our breastfeeding journey so far. It continues to amaze me that our bodies can nourish our babies for so long even after birth. I completely believe that fed is best, but I am so thankful to be able to nurse. It really is one of my greatest accomplishments and the bond is something I truly treasure. We’ll see how it goes when those teeth start popping through!
Milestones // He is working on sitting up all on his own. He’s done it a few times but still a little wobbly. I really think he’s going to start crawling soon! He has been getting up on all fours and scooting backwards. Totally not ready for this little guy to be scooting all around the house. He is constantly grabbing at his feet, even managed to pull a sock off. Going strong with solid food. He hasn’t met a food he didn’t like so far, which is so different than when Lucas was a baby. He is a big face grabber and likes to study people. We went to his first Kindermusik class, which we loved! They’re having a trial class here in town before they officially open in the Spring.
Mama:
So so so happy but also driving the STRUGGLE BUS & it seems like I’m crashing it pretty often. I’m still trying to find that balance (HA!) of mom life, me time, and time for my husband. Haven’t quite figured it out yet, but I’m determined to get there. How do you moms do it?! Have y’all mastered how to balance things as a mother? What’s the secret?? I have 15 more lbs of baby weight to lose, but it’s pretty much all baby weight from my pregnancy with Lucas haha. I haven’t been getting to the gym or eating as healthy as I’d like to be, but I have a good feeling for this next month! Brandon and I are doing a 1 day juice cleanse tomorrow. I ordered one from Pressed Juicery, and honestly all of the juices I got sound DELISH. So I am really excited to try it out and report back to y’all! I also got my hair done today, and it’s amazing what a fresh cut & color can do for you. I feel super refreshed and totally loving my hair! It definitely makes me feel like I have my life more together. One of my best friends’ sister owns Serendipity Salon here in Slidell, and they do amazing work! The salon is so pretty, they are super friendly, and like I said they do an amazing job. So if you’re in need of a salon here, I highly recommend them!
I know I am a little late with Lo’s monthly update, but I really have been driving the struggle bus lately. I have so much planned for this blog amongst other things. Literally so many ideas written down in notebooks, on my phone, in my planner. I just need to make the time to do it. Time management, one thing I really need to get better at here in 2018. Is it too late to make New Years’ Resolutions? 🙂
